The OSPREY is our original S18S G2 or S18S EXP renamed to help eliminate name similarity confusion with our other 18' surfskis. The Osprey hull has increased its speed by increasing the size of the cut-aways and narrowing the bow sections from the S18S G1. The rocker profile has been tweaked along with the trim to optimize the ski for efficient paddling and catching waves. All done without losing any stability and staying within USCA fast sea kayaks regulations.

The DeBrito bailer makes for dry starts, paddles and rapid water removal, carbon handles at each end and a large oval hatch in the stern. The comfort, under-stern/over-stern fittings, side handles, water bottle holder, leash attachment and deck bungees still come standard on the Osprey. Making this a boat you need to put in your fleet.

Over Stern Steering

Easy change to over stern steering, with rudder post and steering line tubes pre-installed.

Ergonomic seat with rounded back for good rotation, low jump and integrated water-bottle holder, cockpit handles & lock bar.

Refined Bow

Peaked deck helps to shed water in the rough stuff and allows for a much more narrow catch. Optimised hull in the bow greatly reduces drag, but keeps stability.

Bow & Stern Handles

Ergonomic carry handles for a comfortable haul to and from the water.

Storage Compartments

2 Water right storage compartments with bulkheads. For comping or long distance racing.

3-point footbrace allows for a powerful leg drive and easy responsive steering with toe pedals.

Under-Stern Rudders

Various sized carbon rudders for efficient steering for any condition.

Low-Volume Cockpit

DeBrito bailer makes for quick draining of the cockpit when underway or close it for flat or cold water paddling.

Stability & Speeds

Designed around the USCA 18' kayak regulations with long and efficient hull lines and a slender bow for lower form and wave drag for a smooth fast running hull.

Construction Options

Alpha - Uni-Directional Carbon

Extremely stiff and light - The ultimate paddling machine that is also easy to move off of the water. Clear finished, heat cured epoxy woven Toray 3k Carbon Fiber laminate with Nomex® Honeycomb Core.

Very stiff and light, yet more affordable than the Alpha. Kevlar® adds impact strength to the laminate - Gelcoat finished heat cured epoxy Kevlar® and Fiberglass laminate with Nomex® Honeycomb Core. Great for racing, or those looking for a light boat, but not as impact resistant as the Multi-sport or Advantage constructions.

Single skin laminate hull made of Carbon & Kevlar® fabric, with clear gelcoat finish, and the deck is the standard Advantage construction. The hull is designed to be flexible and durable, but creates a stiff boat that can take some abuse in the class I and II rapids and shallows, but is also at home in the ocean or the flats. The Surf Ski Multi-Sport construction comes standard with an over-stern rudder and fittings for an under-stern rudder, as well as a flush mounted Andersen Super mini-bailer.

Great combination of weight, stiffness, durability and cost. Gelcoat finished heat cured infused epoxy Fiberglass and Soric® core laminate is very tough and resists against punctures. A great race boat on a tight budget. The Advantage hits the mark for price to weight ratio for most kayak paddlers.

The Stellar Difference

The difference is in the details. At Stellar, we realise that all materials are not made the same and premium materials help make a superior boat. From Dupont Kevlar, Toray Carbon, Lantor Core and 3M finishing materials, we realize that these materials may cost more, but provide you with a superior boat in mechanical strength, aesthetic finish, optimal weight and consistent performance. We process those superior materials, by using epoxy resin, heat curing, vacuum and infusion to create the some of the best boats on the market.
